The airline has announced that Montego Bay Jamaica will be one of their nonstop destinations in the Caribbean starting in July 1, 2014. Southwest brought AirTran Airlines in 2011 which currently offers flight to the Caribbean. Southwest is currently changing their reservation system to be able to handle all bookings.

The Southwest Airlines International flights will offer two daily flights between Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport to Montego Bay, Atlanta to Montego Bay and Orlando to Montego Bay, Jamaica.
Southwest is planning on increasing their international routes as early as next year. The new international market would include Texas as they are looking to complete a five gate international terminal at Houston Hobby Airport. Jamaica is looking forward to welcoming Southwest airlines to sunshine blue skies.
