Southwest Airlines International flights will be making stops in Montego Bay Jamaica. The airline has announced that Montego Bay Jamaica will be one of their nonstop destinations in the Caribbean starting in July 1, 2014. Southwest brought AirTran Airlines in 2011 which currently offers flight to the Caribbean. Southwest is currently changing their reservation system to be able to handle all bookings.
Once the updated reservation system is in place, all AirTran international flights will be converted to Southwest by year end said Chief Executive Gary Kelly. The Southwest Airlines International flights will offer two daily flights between Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport to Montego Bay, Atlanta to Montego Bay and Orlando to Montego Bay, Jamaica.
Southwest is planning on increasing their international routes as early as next year. The new international market would include Texas as they are looking to complete a five gate international terminal at Houston Hobby Airport. Jamaica is looking forward to welcoming Southwest airlines to sunshine blue skies.
