Tourism Representatives and Government officials celebrates Jamaica’s two millionth visitors.

Jamaica welcomes its Two Millionth Stopover Visitors for the first time in one year. This was great for the country. Especially, because the forecast after the first quarter of 2013 all point to a decline in tourism for the year. The sharp increase in stopover visitors climbed during the months from September to December.

John Lynch who is Jamaica’s Director of Tourism credits the increase saying, “We are doing well because of the product”. We’re talking about how our hotels and attractions are performing well. While the Jamaican people remain our greatest asset, as some of the friendliest in the world. And we had the capacity, which was the airline seats and the rooms,” said Lynch.

Timing is Everything

Mr. Lynch went on to talk about new aggressive media marketing campaign to further promote Jamaica. Timing is everything, Jamaica have been blessing as a country in many ways. Three of Jamaica’s greatest blessings in exporting have been the music. Then there’s track & field and the food (Jerk chicken and jerk pork). Some may argue that medical marijuana will take on a role all on its own. But for now, its music, Sports and food are the talk of the town.

Chairman of Jamaica Tourist Board Mr. Dennis Morrison has credited the additional investment in the resorts and ongoing infrastructure improvement causing new overseas markets to open up.
