Travellers Beach Resort in Negril Jamaica is an affordable hotel destination in Negril. The hotel is situated right on the beautiful world famous 9 Miles Beach which boasts soft white sand and crystal blue water. I recently stayed at Travellers Beach Resort in Negril Jamaica while touring the island. The first stop after leaving Montego Bay Airport (MBJ) was Negril. The drive to Negril is less than 120 minutes from the airport even though we were stopping along the way and enjoying the beautiful scenery and of course the great island food.
Once we got to Travellers Beach Resort in Negril, we received a warm welcome from the minute the security person Marlon lifted up the pole at the gate for us to enter the premises. The staff throughout our stay was extremely friendly. They gave us the feeling that it was really a pleasure to serve us and as a Jamaican, it made me very proud. At that moment I thought, no wonder the United Nation voted Jamaica as one of the friendliest island in the world, yea-mon. Of course, the workers were doing their job, some would say but the staff went above and beyond to ensure our stay was pleasant by not just answering the questions but sharing additional information. We felt the difference between a family-owned resort versus a more commercial robotic resort.
Friendly and Accommodating
The rooms were very clean and the maids providing the room services were just as friendly and accommodating. Overall, the resort can use some upgrading, but it was very encouraging to see that work has been done as you moved around the premises. I spoke with the owner of Travellers Beach Resort, and he is grateful to all the visitors and returning visitors over the years. He is a soft-spoken man who remains very humble.
After speaking with Mr. Wellington, I could see where his staff gets their lead in treating their guest like family. It is always noteworthy to know that the owner is not just taking the money and not putting back something in the country. Mr. Wellington’s involvement in the community goes way beyond giving jobs to his staff. Mr. Wellington started the NEET (Negril Education Environment Trust) a non-profit program in helping to improve Jamaica’s literacy in order to strengthen the country’s educational infrastructure. As a proud worker was quick to share that information and why not, NEET is a proud and noble thing to do in giving back to the country especially knowing the impact and long-term it provides to Jamaica’s advancement.
Karaoke Night
As far as entertainment, Karaoke night was awesome, although I must admit, the contestants were better than average singers that night, therefore I decided to save my signing for another day (Lol). The good news for me, in my opinion, is that there is no way that the strong level of signing can remain that good, so on my next trip to Travellers Beach Resort in Negril, I will be ready to get my singing on. The resort has a nice bar ambiance situated beachside. The atmosphere is simply magnificent and it’s great to see members of this family-owned Resorts are right there having fun as well.
For your first trip or your next trip to Negril Jamaica and you are looking for a nice resort that is affordable, clean with friendly staff, we highly recommend Travellers Beach Resort. Travellers Beach Resort is perfectly located and could not be better situated.
