How Does Sandals Montego Bay Measure Up?

Sandals Montego Bay is a gorgeous, all-inclusive couples-only luxury vacation resort conveniently located on the coast of Jamaica and minutes away from the international airport. We love its endless list of amenities and activities and the default in-room accommodations with options to upgrade to features such as an in-room bar with premium spirits and butler service.

To be fair and explore the other local options in Jamaica, we compared Sandals Montego Bay to Moon Palace, Breathless, and Melia Braco luxury resorts. Each of these resorts had a different ambiance which is what makes them so unique.

To summarize, Moon Palace specializes in family-friendly amenities such as a simulated wave pool and Dolphin Cove encounters with time for mom and dad at the getaway or nightclub. Breathless is adults-only which is perfect for couples, friends, or a destination wedding, and offers a variety of accommodations and restaurants and bars including access to the neighbor resorts owned by the same company.

Melia Braco Village is family-friendly like Moon Palace and offers enough activities to keep the kids busy, such as a kids’ center and a babysitting service so mom and dad can make a vacation to the buffet or perhaps the hot tub with a swim-up bar on the north coast of Jamaica.

Yet, we beg the question: how does Sandals Montego Bay measure up to these other amazing Jamaican luxury resorts? The answer is that it measures beyond the other resorts. Though we were thoroughly impressed with Moon Palace and its family-friendly amenities, accommodations, and a wide variety of restaurants that even the pickiest of kids would love.

Sandals Montego Bay wins our number one spot. It’s hard to argue with the dozens of indoor and outdoor activities whether you are preparing to scuba dive, waterski, or play nighttime tennis on the courts before hitting the piano bar.
