Rastafari Rally Round the Rasta Colors as it’s relating to their purpose. The colors of the flag are red, yellow and green. So, the Rasta Colors symbolized allegiance to the flag of Rastafari motherland, Ethiopian. Red, Gold and Green are how the flag is described by many Jamaicans. Most of all, the lyrics say’s, “Rally Round the Red, Gold, Black and Green. “ They were vocalizing the colors red, gold, black and green by Rastafari. Rally Round gave more weight to the colors and further legitimized the song with anthem popularity to the world.

Interestingly enough, red, black and green were the colors symbolized with Jamaican born Civil Rights Activist, The Honorable Marcus Mosiah Garvey. Mr. Garvey was the leader of the Pan-African movement back in the early 1900’s. In addition, he was the founder of the UNIA-ACL (Universal Negro Improvement Association and African Community League) and recognized by the colors of their flag red, black and green.
Marcus Garvey’s teaching and Rastafari beliefs have much in common. Furthermore, many Rastafari gives credit to Marcus Garvey’s forward thinking about returning to Africa, it gave them hope. So adopting the colors of the movement must have been an easy decision for The Rastafari.
Rasta color meaning
So red represents the blood of the sufferers who sacrifice their life for the cause of equal rights and justice. Gold identify with the wealth of the motherland Africa. Green is for the land, the fruits of the labor and black represents the race, the people. Because of these meaning with the colors, Rastafari Rally Round them.
Most of all, the Rasta colors and the teaching of Marcus Garvey remain significant to the Rasta people. So these are some of the reasons why some people see the “True Rastafari” as pure at hart. Furthermore, the humbleness of their culture speaks volume to their belief. So today you will see the colors identify as Rasta colors being displayed by many and worn in many art forms by people around-the-world. While for some it’s a fashion statement, for others it’s their religious ways of life.
