Dunn’s River Falls has a very fascinating history. They say that the legendary battle of “Las Chorreras” took part here on this site. This battle was fought in the year, 1657 when the Spanish army was occupying the area.
The battle was between the English and the Spanish Expeditionary Force from Cuba. The battle was of a crucial importance since the ownership of the island was at stake.
The outcome of the battle was in favor of The English who won. Under the leadership of the British, Charles Pryce was the first owner of “Las Chorreras.”

Blue and John Crow Mountains National Park has since 2015 been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
