When the word got out that Jamaica outgoing immigration will eliminate process forms to reduce the long lines at airports, tourist and foreign nationals welcome the news with open arms. The announcement was made by Josef Fortsmayr, President of the Caribbean Hotel and Tourist Association at the tourist summit.

Many travelers who were tired of waiting on long immigration lines welcome this decision. As Mr. Fortsmayr stated, “now that we have sorted out that problem, we now need to make arriving into the island easier.” This is yet another sign that the Jamaica government is listening to the people and making changes to benefit the country.

A few people asked us, how much time will be save when there is still the need to stand in the security line? We certainly understood the concerns of our visitors, but while this will not totally eliminate the problems with long lines, we surely agree that the country is moving in the right direction. The immigration officers will have one less thing to process which can only help.

This is easier said than done but while you are in Jamaica, do as the Jamaican does.

Cool Running (take it easy) while on line because you are in Jamaica, no problem!
