Jamaica’s Tarrus Riley “Love Situation” album is described as maybe his best album. His “Love Situation” album tops the Reggae Album chart in its first week of release. This album was done in association with Tarrus Riley long time mentor and musical director Dean Frasier. Tarrus who originally wanted to be a Dancehall DJ says he was “tricked into becoming a singer.”Rock Steady
Now five albums later, Tarrus Riley is taking the show on the road and looking to capture new fan base in new market place. On the second leg of his six week spring tour which starts today May 25 in Miami Best of the Best Concert with Co-Promoters Jabba and Bobby Konders as Massive B sounds from New York. Speaking about Tarrus Riley, Jabba says “His great voice and great songs have kept cultural reggae alive.”
According to Shane Brown, Riley’s co-manager, producer/engineer, they will spend the next 12-18 months promoting “Love Situation”, by releasing singles and touring new territories. Tarrus Riley next stop will be the European market for this fall starting Sept. 15 – Oct. 18.
Jamaica’s Tarrus Riley “Love Situation” album takes him into his 34th birthday and also seeing him climbing in recognition and respectability. He is now considered one of Jamaica’s best singer/songwriter in his generation. Since Tarrus 2006 album “Parables” featuring the smash single “She’s Royal” which is considered one of Jamaica’s all time best ever song, he has continue to release other hit singles.
Tarrus Riley and BSMG (Blak Soil Music Group) are looking to a broader market and will look to tour with some US group. As Riley says, “… artist wants more ears for their music so we are in this for the long run.” He went on to say, “Jamaican music is very much about its culture and sometimes music takes longer to reach other places because of the culture that comes with it, but we are gaining fans with this album so we are on the right track.”
