Jamaica is well known for its natural beauty and warm welcoming friendliness as a tourist destination. The country has a long history of providing superior services as a service bureau. To ensure Jamaica is successful on a global scale, the Jamaican Government, the IDB (Inter-American Development Bank) and Compete Caribbean has organized the Jamaica Investment Forum. The forum was designed to identify Jamaica investment and business opportunities in various sectors and combine sector experts with international investors. As a member of the IDB and Compete Caribbean, Jamaica is well position to receive investment funding along with comprehensive study of the country’s infrastructure along with policies and regulations guidelines and customs efficiencies. These companies will be working with the government and private sector groups to ensure competitiveness and economic growth.

The forum which was held in March 2012, and led by the Honourable Portia Simpson Miller, Prime Minister of Jamaica.

The forum identified significant Investment opportunities in Jamaica in the 21st Century. They discuss how other countries and potential business partners around the globe could take advantage of the many incentives available to international business partners. Jamaica is also ranked by the World Bank as a country to do business with. It has been said that when opportunity meets preparation it’s a perfect combination. In the area of agriculture, advance opportunities are being exhausted to ensure that goods are being used in its entirety so that Jamaica can play a bigger and more efficient roll to not only reduce oil consumption but to look to contribute to alternative energy such as ethanol.
